November 13th, 2007
Our November event proved to be a Positively Positive evening! The Southern New Hampshire Women's Business Network gathered at Southern New Hasmpshire University for networking, appetizers and a presentation by Debby Hoffman on Positivity. Debby's message proved to be inspiring to all that attended and her "just do it" attitude gave some that much needed push to follow their dreams. Debby is a professional speaker that adds laughter as the key element in her presentation. For the forty or so attendees at the event, the networking, food, coffee, presentation, and raffle prizes was the winning combination to shake off those winter blues and have a more positive outlook on life. More information about Debby Hoffman's seminars can be found at www.DebbyHoffman.com.

July 19th, 2007 - Business Women Gather to Hear About Economic Status of Women in New Hampshire
Despite heavy rain pour outside, it was a packed room on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at the McLane Law Firm when the New Hampshire Women's Policy Institute presented its program on "Are We There Yet? Women's Economic Status and Participation in Corporate Leadership in New Hampshire." When moderator, Linda Johnson asked attendees: "So, are we there yet?" – not one hand was raised. Katie Merrow, Executive Director of the Women's Policy Institute has just reported on findings from various surveys and reports including that the income disparity between men and women persists with full-time working women earning only 71% of men's median earning; that there is a marriage earnings premium for men but not for women in the state; and that the high the education level attained by men and women, the greater the wage disparity that exists. Like the rest of American society, family responsibilities are shouldered primarily by women and can have a cumulative negative impact on women's earnings. On a more positive note, women's earnings in New Hampshire are among the highest in the nation and New Hampshire ranks high on policies that support women's economic well-being. For more information on the New Hampshire Women's Policy Institute, please click here to download a brochure. The event was part of the professional development programs sponsored by the Southern New Hampshire Women's Business Network.
